Enmanuel Reyes and Laura Fuertes win gold in Mediterranean Games boxing

Spanish boxers Enmanuel Reyes Pla and Laura Fuertes secured gold medals at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto.

Enmanuel Reyes Pla, a former Olympic bronze medalist, won the under 90kg category by defeating Serbia's Mirko Pizurica with a unanimous 5-0 decision. Reyes, who served as the flag bearer during the opening ceremony, dominated the three-round bout. His path to the final included a victory over Macedonia's Ilcho Kostovski in the quarterfinals and a semifinal advancement following the withdrawal of France's Sehab Bouafia.

In the women's division, Laura Fuertes claimed gold in the -51kg category after a 4-1 decision against Algeria's Fatiha Mansouri. The boxing session also yielded two silver medals for Spain, earned by Ewart Andrés Marín and Frank Martínez. These victories contribute to Spain's current standing in the competition, which holds seven gold, twelve silver, and fourteen bronze medals so far.
