Enna Bassa officially renamed Enna Città Studi

The municipal council of Enna Bassa approved a change of the neighbourhood’s name to “Enna Città Studi”. The announcement was made by Mayor Mirello Crisafulli during the Sant’Anna festivities and a concert organized by the University Kore. It came minutes after university president Cataldo Salerno publicly called for the new designation, noting the campus’s impact on the area’s identity. Crisafulli said the decision had already been taken by the council and will be formalised at the next executive session. The rename recognises the long‑standing presence of thousands of students from Sicily and beyond, whose activities have reshaped the local commercial, residential and economic landscape. Officials highlighted the change as a way to strengthen cooperation between the city administration and the university and to promote the city’s academic vocation externally.
