Enna presents key of the city to Pietrangelo Buttafuoco

The city of Enna has, for the first time in its history, presented the key to the city to Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, the president of the Venice Biennale. The ceremony marks the beginning of celebrations for the centenary of Enna's status as a provincial capital, an institution established on December 6, 1926.

Mayor Mirello Crisafulli initiated the recognition to honor Buttafuoco as one of the most illustrious citizens of the region. During the event, the Mayor emphasized the importance of Enna serving as a hub for cultural and health services for inland areas, specifically mentioning the goal of establishing a university polyclinic.

The ceremony included performances by the Kore Folkloric Group and a concert by the Fanfare of the 12th Carabinieri Regiment ‘Sicilia’. Buttafuoco, who was also awarded an honorary degree, highlighted the significance of Kore University as a vital tool for social mobility in the province.
