Enna school network to remain unchanged for 2026/2027 year

The provincial school network in Enna will remain unchanged for the 2026/2027 academic year, according to a recent reorganization conference. Despite a decline of 320 students, bringing the total provincial student population to 18,881, officials decided against any school mergers or closures.

During the meeting, presided over by Piero Capizzi, Viviana Assenza of the Regional School Office highlighted that the continuous depopulation of inland areas is creating a domino effect on the local economy and the school system. While the decision to maintain the current structure was met with relief by local leaders, officials noted the ongoing challenges posed by low birth rates and shrinking student numbers.
