Enna to host VII Paneuropean Forum of Confraternities

Enna will host the VII Paneuropean Forum of Confraternities from October 2 to 7, marking the first time the event is held in Italy since its edition in Vatican City. The forum is expected to draw over two thousand members from ten European countries.

Key participants include Cardinals Angelo Bagnasco and Enrico Feroci, with Salvatore Martinez serving as the scientific curator. The event aims to highlight the cultural and spiritual roots of Europe through the lens of religious confraternities, which local officials describe as a vital part of the social and religious fabric of the community.

The program includes the ‘Habitus Fidei’ exhibition of sacred garments, a ‘Young Forum’ dedicated to youth engagement, and a major procession on October 4 involving delegations from Malta, Malaga, Seville, Portugal, Switzerland, and Vatican City. Local leaders emphasized the importance of recognizing these confraternities as significant intangible heritage for the region and Europe.
