Enner Valencia near move to Argentine club Talleres

Ecuadorian striker Enner Valencia, who left Mexican side Pachuca as a free agent, has reached a verbal agreement to join Argentine Primera División team Talleres. The deal is expected to be a 12‑month contract running until July 2027, subject to the club clearing an administrative foreign‑player slot and completing registration. Former Ecuador national team coach Jorge Sampaoli, who previously worked with Valencia at Emelec, advocated the signing and is credited with pushing the negotiations forward.

Valencia is currently in Guayaquil handling personal matters, and his transfer could be jeopardised by his wife's reluctance to relocate to Argentina, a complication highlighted in recent reports. If finalised, the move would mark Valencia's first experience in Argentine football.
