Enner Valencia signs for Boca Juniors as club's new striker
Boca Juniors announced the official signing of 36‑year‑old Ecuadorian forward Enner Valencia. The striker arrived as a free agent after ending his contract with Mexican side Pachuca, bringing three World Cup appearances and the record as Ecuador's all‑time top scorer.
Valencia is scheduled to land in Buenos Aires on Friday 7 August 2026 and undergo a medical examination on Saturday. If the exam is passed, he will sign an 18‑month deal with an option to extend for another year. The club recruited him to cover the injured Adam Bareiro and to add experience to a forward line that already includes Leandro Lozano, Sebastián Villa and Álvaro Montero.
