ENRGE delays restructuring and expands gas benefits

The National Regulatory Entity for Gas and Electricity (ENRGE) has decided to postpone the official restructuring of its operational framework until a new president is appointed. The board, currently operating with four members following a recent resignation, voted 3-1 to delay the decision to address concerns regarding staff changes and potential voluntary retirement programs.

In a separate regulatory move, ENRGE has expanded gas tariff benefits for the National System of Volunteer Firefighters. Under a new resolution, the free tariff benefit—previously limited to natural gas supplied via networks—now also includes Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) distributed through networks. This extension aligns with national energy secretariat directives to ensure volunteer firefighting entities receive comprehensive utility subsidies.
