Enrico Balliana selected for Italian junior cycling world championship squad

Enrico Balliana has been named to the Italian national junior cycling squad for the World Championships in Montreal, scheduled for September 20–27. Representing Team ECOTEK Zero24, Balliana is included in the expanded selection for both the time trial and the road race. For the time trial, he is one of three riders competing for two spots, while he is among nine athletes vying for five positions in the road race.

Balliana enters the selection following a successful season, including winning the Italian Junior Championship in Sora and a stage of the Trophée Centre Morbihan in France. This marks the first time an athlete from Team ECOTEK Zero24 has been included in a junior world championship squad.

In related team news, Team ECOTEK Zero24 has announced that Samuele Brustia will join their junior ranks in 2027. Brustia, a highly regarded young cyclist with victories in the Piccola Vuelta del Canavese and the GP Berra Immobilier in Switzerland, cited the team’s professional organization as a primary reason for his decision.
