Enrico Crucianelli suspended amid Italian reconstruction probe

Enrico Crucianelli, president of Ance Macerata and a member of the Confindustria Macerata presidency council, has suspended himself from all associative roles following his involvement in a judicial investigation into post-earthquake reconstruction efforts.

The investigation, known as Operation “Ricostruzione,” was coordinated by the Dda and conducted by the Guardia di Finanza. It involves allegations of illegalities in public contracts and construction sites. Authorities have requested eight precautionary measures, including prison sentences, for 51 suspects, and have seized assets exceeding 57 million euros.

Crucianelli, owner of Rest Edile, is accused of managing approximately 400 construction sites with an insufficient workforce, allegedly achieving a monopolistic position through systematic subcontracting of labor. The investigation also includes the arrest of lawyer and former regional councilor Fabio Pistarelli.

Confindustria Macerata issued a statement affirming that legality, integrity, and transparency are non-negotiable principles of its code of ethics. The association expressed respect for the judicial process and the presumption of innocence while monitoring the investigation's developments.
