Barón Crespo, who serves as the Chancellor of the United Nations University for Peace and is a former President of the European Parliament, discussed the historical relationship between Russia and the European Union. Drawing from his political career and research, he addressed the challenges facing modern democracies and the necessity of dialogue to replace confrontation.
During the event, UNACH Rector Oswaldo Chacón Rojas and researcher Jorge López Arévalo emphasized the importance of understanding historical processes and the role of educational institutions in fostering a culture of peace and preparing future leaders for just societies. Barón Crespo noted that ‘building peace is the work of weavers; it requires will, skill, and perseverance.’
