Enrique Inzunza submits second Senate report following allegations

Enrique Inzunza Cázarez, an independent senator from Sinaloa, has submitted his second activity report to the Senate of the Republic. This follows a four-month absence from legislative duties, during which he faced allegations from United States authorities regarding purported links to the Sinaloa Cartel, specifically the 'Los Chapitos' faction.

In his 104-page document, Inzunza addressed the accusations by quoting the philosopher Seneca: ‘It is proof of my rectitude that I displease the wicked.’ He maintained that he will continue working to strengthen the rule of law, defend national sovereignty, and contribute to the development of Sinaloa and Mexico. He has previously denied the allegations, stating there is no evidence against him and expressing willingness to appear before the Attorney General's Office if required.

The report notes his participation in a period where 128 regulations were approved, including eight constitutional reforms. However, the document did not detail specific legislative initiatives or activities performed during his absence from late April until his formal return on September 1.
