Mexican and Colombian Authorities Press Charges in a Wave of Criminal Cases

Colombia's San Andrés archipelago saw two men, Óscar Eduardo Lorduy Cardales (27) and Alan Joseph Martínez Batista (19), sentenced to prison for the aggravated homicide of a 26‑year‑old motorcyclist during a robbery on 21 June, along with related assault, theft and illegal weapons charges.

In Mexico, a series of prosecutions were launched: Miguel “N” was linked to illegal entry and damage at a notary office in Valle del Campestre, Jalisco; paramedic Elías Antonio “N” from Castaños, Coahuila, was charged with falsifying a rescue claim after fabricating a story about saving a newborn from a trash container; Enrique “N” faced charges for damaging the historic Palacio Federal monument in Oaxaca; Alan Clemente “N” was charged with family‑violence offences in Zitácuaro, Michoacán; and Jesús Gabriel Pérez Rodríguez (“Jesús N”) was indicted for participation in an organized‑crime financial scheme allegedly tied to former security chief Genaro García Luna. These cases illustrate a broad enforcement push against violent crime, fraud, heritage damage and alleged corruption across the two nations.
