Ensemble 96 celebrates 30 years with new concert and CD recording

The chamber choir Ensemble 96 is celebrating its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of commissioning and performing contemporary Norwegian choral works. The Grammy-nominated ensemble has commissioned over 40 pieces during its history.

As part of its current activities, the choir will perform ‘Te Deum and five poems and a hymn by Jon Fosse’ at Sauherad kirke on August 18, 2024. This performance serves as a final rehearsal before the group records the work for a CD release on the Grappa label, scheduled for late August 2024.

The concert, directed by Nina T. Karlsen, features soloists Ditte M. Bræin and Eirik Krokfjord, organist Otto Christian Odland, and four French horn soloists. The musical program centers on the traditional ‘Te Deum’ hymn alongside texts by Nobel laureate Jon Fosse.
