Ensenada beach visitors exceed 140,000 during summer season

More than 140,500 people have visited the beaches of Ensenada during the current summer season, according to municipal president Claudia Agatón Muñiz. In response to the high volume of visitors, authorities have reinforced the ‘Operativo Verano Seguro’ (Safe Summer Operation) to prevent accidents and drownings.

Between July 17 and August 9, the Aquatic Division of the Fire Department conducted 2,763 preventive actions to remove individuals from danger zones caused by rip currents. Additionally, 15 rescues were performed, involving 31 people who encountered difficulties in the sea. Most interventions occurred in the La Misión Delegation and coastal areas including Playa Hermosa, Conalep, and Pacífica.

Agatón Muñiz urged the public to follow lifeguard instructions, avoid swimming when warning flags are present, and only visit beaches with active surveillance. She emphasized that many incidents can be prevented by adhering to safety recommendations and reporting risks immediately to emergency services.
