Ensenada officials call for adoption of 80 sheltered animals

The government of Ensenada is calling on citizens to adopt animals currently sheltered at the Centro de Atención Canina y Felina de Ensenada (CACyFE). Municipal President Claudia Agatón Muñiz reported that 80 animals are currently in the facility, consisting of 68 dogs and 12 cats.

Responsible adoption is encouraged to improve the animals' quality of life and to help reduce the population of stray animals and indiscriminate breeding. As part of animal welfare initiatives, the CACyFE provides low-cost veterinary services, including consultations, sterilization, and deworming, as well as free community sessions held with civil associations.

Prospective adopters must meet several requirements, including providing a copy of their official ID (INE), proof of address, a photograph of the animal's intended living area, a completed adoption form, and a 470-peso fee for sterilization.
