Ensenada to host 21st International Jazz Festival

The 21st edition of the International Jazz Festival will take place on Sunday, September 27, at the Riviera de Ensenada Cultural Center. Organized by the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) in collaboration with the local government, the event offers free admission to the public.

The festival features musical groups and projects from Mexico and the United States. Participating ensembles include the Ensamble Estudiantil del Instituto Contemporáneo de Música de Baja California, Gabriela Bojórquez + Trío de Jazz from Tijuana, Ensenada Jazz, Orbis Tertius from Xalapa, Veracruz, and the Said Sarabia Quintet, which includes musicians from Boston, Mexicali, and Ensenada.

With a 21-year history, the festival is a regional musical tradition rooted in the legacy of internationally recognized Ensenada jazz musician Dr. Ernesto Rosas Montoya. The event aims to promote culture and facilitate encounters between the university community, artists, and the general public.
