Ženska plaža in Ulcinj offers women-only access and sulfur springs

Ženska plaža (Women's Beach), located in a secluded cove between Mala and Velika beach in Ulcinj, remains a unique destination on the Adriatic Sea due to its specific access rules and natural properties.

During the tourist season, from early May to the end of November, men are prohibited from entering the beach between 8:00 and 18:00. Security personnel monitor the area to ensure these rules are respected, though men may access the area early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Children with disabilities accompanied by their mothers are permitted access during the women-only hours.

The beach is noted for natural sulfur springs that emerge from the seabed, mixing with the seawater. This phenomenon has led to long-standing local beliefs regarding the medicinal benefits of the sulfur water and mud for skin, respiratory, and fertility issues, though these are not substitutes for professional medical treatment. The location has gained international recognition, including being featured by CNN as an attractive nudist destination.
