ENTEL announces $53 million investment in Santa Cruz for 5G and service upgrades
ENTEL has announced a $53 million investment in the Santa Cruz department to accelerate technological infrastructure, with a primary focus on expanding 5G connectivity. During the Expocruz 2026 event, company executives revealed that a second phase of 5G deployment is underway and is expected to continue through December. The company noted that current 5G technology offers significantly higher speeds compared to previous generations, with over 180,000 simultaneous users already utilizing the service.
In addition to network expansion, ENTEL has inaugurated a new modern Call Center in Santa Cruz to enhance customer service. The facility employs over 250 specialized agents and is designed to integrate multiple communication channels, including a new WhatsApp service, to facilitate remote problem-solving. This center is part of a broader national plan that includes a larger central headquarters to be located in La Paz to ensure operational continuity and improved response times.
