Entel receives innovation award and implements 5G in Bolivia

Entel has received the Maya 2026 Award in the category of ‘Innovation and leadership in telecommunications and digital technology.’ The recognition highlights the company’s efforts to advance technological development and connectivity within Bolivia.

In Tarija, the company is beginning to implement 5G technology, specifically in the historic city center (casco viejo). This move follows the saturation and collapse of the 4G network in that area due to a lack of previous investment. The rollout will be progressive, allowing users with compatible devices to migrate to the 5G network automatically, which is expected to alleviate congestion on the 4G infrastructure.
