Brazil's financial and legal sectors embrace AI and data-driven management

The Brazilian financial and legal sectors are undergoing significant digital transformations driven by artificial intelligence and data analytics. At the Febraban Tech 2026 event, banking executives from institutions such as Bradesco, Itaú Unibanco, Santander, and BTG Pactual discussed the integration of AI to enhance customer experience, increase productivity, and enable hyper-personalization. Bradesco reported that its virtual assistant, BIA, processed 74 million transactions in a single quarter. However, leaders emphasized that while AI offers efficiency, human oversight remains essential for ethical decision-making and managing the risks of invasive personalization.

In the legal sector, the adoption of generative AI has surged, with usage among Brazilian lawyers rising from 55% to 77% in one year. This shift is being complemented by the emergence of significant players like Enter, a Brazilian legaltech startup that has become the first AI unicorn in Latin America with a valuation of US$ 1.2 billion. Enter utilizes AI agents to analyze judicial processes, detect fraud, and identify abusive litigation patterns.

Beyond finance and law, technology is impacting other sectors. In agriculture, AI is projected to inject R$ 48.2 billion into Brazil's agribusiness GDP by 2030 through increased machinery efficiency. Meanwhile, in medicine, specialists suggest that AI can humanize care by automating bureaucratic tasks, allowing doctors more time for direct patient interaction. Amidst these advancements, economic leaders continue to call for fiscal responsibility and productivity-focused policies to ensure long-term stability.
