Enter Shikari to enter indefinite hiatus in 2027
British band Enter Shikari has announced they will enter an indefinite hiatus starting December 31, 2027. The group stated they will “fall dormant as a recording and performing entity” at that time, though they noted the dormancy could eventually lead to either a return to activity or permanent extinction.
The decision follows revelations from frontman Rou Reynolds regarding his mental health. Reynolds cited burnout, OCD, and nervous system sensitisation as factors that had reduced his “capacity to zero.” The band noted that the pressures of the modern music industry and nearly three decades of touring have taken a significant toll on their well-being.
Before the hiatus begins, Enter Shikari plans to embark on a major UK and European arena tour this November, which they intend to make “special” for their fans. The year 2027 will also mark the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut album.
