Entergy-Meta Deal Shields Louisiana Ratepayers from Data Center Costs

Entergy Louisiana announced that Meta will cover the full cost of new power infrastructure needed for its data center in Richland Parish. The agreement includes generation, transmission, battery storage and related grid upgrades, ensuring that Louisiana families and businesses are not charged for the facility's electricity needs.

Entergy says the arrangement will provide more than $2.65 billion in savings to ratepayers over the next 20 years by lowering storm‑recovery charges, reducing grid‑resiliency costs and delivering long‑term rate relief. The company highlighted local economic benefits, noting thousands of construction jobs, permanent technical positions and increased tax revenue that have already funded teacher bonuses and community grants.
