Enterprise access control shifts toward integrated digital security
Modern enterprise security is shifting from traditional physical locks to integrated digital access control systems. This evolution is driven by the need for granular control, remote management, and the ability to instantly revoke credentials across multiple sites.
As organizations manage increasing complexity, the global access control market is projected to grow from approximately $12.72 billion in 2026 to $26.22 billion by 2034. Large enterprises are driving much of this demand, seeking infrastructure that integrates physical access with identity management, video surveillance, and compliance reporting.
A study by the FIDO Alliance and HID involving 500 IT and cybersecurity decision-makers found that 59% of enterprises manage at least three separate credential and authentication systems. While 94% of these organizations believe they can revoke both physical and digital access within 24 hours, 35% reported experiencing delays or failures in doing so over the previous two years.
