Enterprise AI Gains Momentum with AMD PCs and AWS Investment
AMD is equipping enterprise PCs with AI‑ready silicon that can run generative AI locally, reducing latency, enhancing data privacy and cutting cloud‑based AI costs. The company’s partnership with Microsoft integrates these capabilities into Windows 11 and the Copilot ecosystem, with Rob McGilvrey noting that “a device is now a key portion of that AI strategy.”
At the AWS Summit in Washington, D.C., Amazon Web Services announced a $1 billion investment in its Forward Deployed Engineering team to help organisations operationalise generative and agentic AI. AWS highlighted 15 real‑world examples, ranging from AI‑powered security and citizen‑centric government services to research collaborations with the University of South Florida and joint deployments with Palantir. These initiatives aim to accelerate AI delivery, improve self‑sufficiency and bolster security for public‑sector and private‑sector customers.
