IT visibility and governance challenges in complex network environments

Akamai has introduced capabilities within its Application Protection Platform, specifically a Unified Asset Inventory and a CISO Dashboard, to bridge the gap between operational visibility and executive governance. These tools aim to help teams discover, assess, prioritize, and protect assets through a continuous cycle of improvement.

Simultaneously, the proliferation of network monitoring tools has not always resulted in better visibility. Instead, the increasing gap between raw data and actionable context often leads to operational noise and alert fatigue. As enterprises adopt multi-cloud and hybrid models—with reports indicating high adoption rates for both—troubleshooting becomes more difficult due to fragmented, siloed architectures that obscure performance baselines.
