Entertainment releases: Alabama Shakes, ‘The Whisper Man’, and more

Several new entertainment releases are scheduled for the week of August 24-30. On Netflix, the film adaptation of Alex North’s novel ‘The Whisper Man’ will premiere, starring Adam Scott as a crime writer searching for his abducted son with the help of his father, played by Robert De Niro.

In music, the Southern rock band Alabama Shakes is releasing ‘I Must Be Dreaming’, their first album in 11 years. The 10-track psychedelic soul record marks the band's first release since the departure of former drummer Steve Johnson. Additionally, Mike D’s project, 5D, will release the 13-track album ‘Thank You’.

On PBS, the documentary ‘Mary Oliver: Saved by the Beauty of the World’ will premiere as part of the ‘American Masters’ series, featuring recitations by figures such as Oprah Winfrey and Stephen Colbert. Other notable upcoming releases include the second season of the comedy series ‘Leanne’ and a new tactical ‘Star Wars’ video game.
