Entertainment updates: Televisa salaries and Cinépolis expansion

Venezuelan actor Luis José Santander recently shared insights regarding the high salaries commanded by actors at Televisa during the 1990s. Speaking on the podcast ‘Desde Cero’, Santander noted that his exclusive contracts for successful telenovelas such as ‘Lazos de Amor’ and ‘Te Sigo Amando’ earned him well over six figures in USD per project. These earnings allowed him to rapidly acquire significant real estate in Caracas, Venezuela, and Mexico City.

In the cinema industry, Cinépolis has expanded its use of ScreenX technology in Mexico with the opening of a new theater at Parque Tepeyac in Mexico City. Developed by CJ 4DPLEX, the ScreenX format provides a 270-degree panoramic view by projecting visuals onto the side walls of the auditorium. The new 139-seat hall joins several other locations across the country that have hosted over 208,000 viewers using this immersive format since 2020.
