Entre Rios teachers stage 24‑hour strike over wages and pension reform
The Central Directorate of the Asociación Gremial del Magisterio de Entre Ríos (AGMER) called a 24‑hour teachers’ strike for Thursday, May 21, aiming to defend Law 8732 and demand real wage increases that keep pace with inflation. The union criticised Governor Rogelio Frigerio’s administration, accusing it of worsening poverty and threatening pension rights with a proposed reform.
During the strike, AGMER members in the Paraná district handed out informational flyers at key intersections in Paraná, Viale, Crespo, María Grande and Hernandarias. The leaflets warned residents about the provincial pension reform, urged opposition to any changes to the Caja de Jubilaciones y Pensiones, and reinforced the call to protect retirees’ rights.
