Entre Ríos commemorates Provincial Day of Protected Natural Areas
The Government of Entre Ríos marked the Provincial Day of Protected Natural Areas with an environmental awareness campaign. Organized by the Directorate of Protected Natural Areas and the Professor Antonio Serrano Provincial Museum of Natural and Anthropological Sciences, the event targeted students from various educational institutions to highlight the importance of biodiversity and natural heritage conservation.
Local authorities, including the Secretary of Environment Rosa Hojman, participated in the activities. The commemoration included technical teams from the Environmental Response Brigade and the Provincial Fire Management Plan. To conclude the event, participants symbolically planted a guayabo colorado tree in Alvear Plaza to promote the protection of native flora.
The provincial day, established by Law 10.920, honors the 1924 legacy of philanthropist Enrique Berduc, whose land donations led to the creation of the first conservation areas in the province.
