Health sectors report new medical residencies and infrastructure investments

Various health sectors across Argentina and other regions are reporting significant developments in medical training and infrastructure. In Chubut, 20 new residents, including 19 doctors and one biochemist, are beginning their training at several regional hospitals, including facilities in Comodoro Rivadavia, Trelew, Puerto Madryn, and Esquel. This includes the introduction of new residency programs in Biochemistry and Diagnostic Imaging.

In Córdoba, 180 professionals have completed their residencies across 53 specialties, while the provincial public health laboratory has invested over 2.85 billion pesos to acquire 42 pieces of advanced equipment to improve diagnostic capabilities for diseases like dengue and zika. Additionally, medical specialists from Córdoba are traveling to Catamarca to lead a training session on the management of acute leukemias in pediatric and adult patients.

Other regional updates include 96 new health professionals graduating in Entre Ríos and 11 new residents joining the public health system in the Southern Lakes Sanitary Region. In Venezuela, a specialized residential care center under the IVSS is providing integrated medical attention and humanized care to patients. Meanwhile, in Spain, the selection process for over 12,000 specialized health training positions has commenced for the 2026-2027 cycle.
