Entre Ríos launches tourism adaptation plan for El Niño

The provincial tourism authority (Ente Mixto de Turismo de Entre Ríos, EMTURER) presented a regional agenda to national tourism secretary Daniel Scioli on behalf of the Council Litoral de Turismo (COLITUR), which includes Entre Ríos, Santa Fe, Corrientes, Misiones, Formosa and Chaco. The plan aims to coordinate inter‑provincial response to river flooding and excess water linked to the El Niño phenomenon, strengthening communication between national and provincial governments and ensuring reliable public information.

In a follow‑up meeting in Colón, EMTURER set up a “Mesa de Seguimiento y Adaptación Turística” with municipal leaders, technical agencies and tourism representatives. The table will monitor hydrological forecasts—expected to begin in September and last six to eight months—and develop actions such as promoting thermal baths, historic sites, national parks and other attractions less vulnerable to floods, relocating events when needed, and diversifying the tourism offer to sustain visitor flow during the summer season.
