Entre Ríos launches waste management and composting initiatives

Entre Ríos is implementing various initiatives to improve waste management and environmental education. In Concepción del Uruguay, the “Concepción reduce” program has launched a series of composting workshops. Organized by the Directorate of Environmental Health, the Secretariat of Social Development, and INTA, these sessions aim to teach residents how to transform organic waste into natural fertilizer at home to reduce the volume of waste sent to disposal sites.

Additionally, the Entre Ríos government has opened registration for a specialized waste management course designed for communes, municipalities, and rural areas. The virtual training, coordinated by expert Cristina Goyenechea, focuses on national and provincial regulatory frameworks, the design of management plans, and opportunities within the circular economy. The program targets local officials, technical teams, and agricultural sector professionals to support the progressive eradication of open-air landfills and the implementation of integrated solid waste management systems.
