Entre Ríos lawmakers submit few bills in Argentina's Congress

A review of legislative activity shows that the 12 deputies and senators from Entre Ríos province accounted for only 37 of the 1,354 bills presented in the Argentine Congress during the first half of 2026. The opposition introduced most proposals, while government‑aligned blocs focused on defending executive initiatives rather than drafting new legislation.

Among the provincial representatives, Guillermo Michel (PJ), who took office in December, was the most active, filing 12 bills on topics such as amendments to the Penal Code, use of cell phones in schools, tax reductions for SMEs, and support for regional economies outside the RIGI. Michel’s proposals also included changes to illegal fishing regulations and equal taxation for eggs and related products.
