Entre Ríos leads Argentina's fluvial grain transport as Cádiz Bay port traffic grows

In Argentina, the province of Entre Ríos has emerged as the national leader in fluvial grain transport. According to a report from the Bolsa de Comercio de Rosario, Entre Ríos accounted for 89 percent of the country's total domestic fluvial grain movement in 2025, totaling 718,301 tons. This represents a 19.8 percent increase from the previous year, contributing to a five-year high for total national fluvial grain cabotage of 805,805 tons.

Key contributors in Entre Ríos included the Cargill terminal in Diamante, which moved 305,790 tons, and the Cooperativa Agrícola de La Paz, which saw a 63 percent year-on-year growth to 279,756 tons.

Meanwhile, in Spain, the Port of Cádiz Bay reported a 10.59 percent increase in total traffic between January and July 2026, reaching 3,304,885 tons. This growth was driven primarily by solid bulk goods, which rose by 45.27 percent to 1,321,766 tons. This surge contrasted with liquid bulk, which fell by 17.22 percent, and general merchandise, which saw a slight decrease of 0.85 percent.
