Entre Ríos poultry sector strengthens biosecurity protocols

Public agencies, private industry representatives, and veterinary professionals have reached an agreement to strengthen biosecurity protocols within the poultry sector in Entre Ríos, Argentina. Led by SENASA, the meeting in Crespo aimed to unify technical and administrative criteria to maintain national sanitary status and support international exports.

The agreement establishes clear responsibilities regarding farm infrastructure and sanitary guarantees. Key operational measures include the maintenance of perimeter fencing and bird netting, strict access controls, mandatory vehicle disinfection, and the safe management of guano and bird mortality.

Accredited veterinarians are tasked with developing management plans and must report any suspected mandatory diseases within a 24-hour window. The initiative follows a five-pillar framework: prevent, warn, notify, correct, and verify, intended to ensure the competitiveness of local poultry production.
