Entre Ríos producers demand urgent action against rising rural crime

Agricultural producers and representatives from major industry groups, including the Federación Agraria Argentina (FAA), the Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA), and the Federación de Asociaciones Rurales de Entre Ríos (FARER), met in the La Paz department of Entre Ríos to demand urgent action against rising rural crime.

Participants reported an uncontrolled escalation of criminal activity and violations of private property in agricultural zones near Bovril, Avigdor, Sauce de Luna, Santa Elena, La Paz, and Villaguay. The group issued a petition calling on judicial officials to investigate reports more effectively, expedite legal processes, and ensure convictions for those responsible.

While acknowledging the work of the Rural Police, producers requested increased resources to improve prevention and security. Specific demands include equipping police outposts with thermal drones and night vision goggles, as well as installing security cameras on roads and rural access points integrated into a centralized monitoring system.
