Entre Ríos legislature tackles citrus disease and honors musician Emanuel Noir
The provincial Senate of Entre Ríos approved a bill granting the title of Citizen Illustrious to musician Emanuel Noir, a move that received a media‑sanction and now awaits consideration by the lower house. In the same province, the government extended its collaboration agreement on the fight against citrus greening disease (HLB) for another year, covering the districts of Federación and Concordia, with updated work plans, sampling of the vector insect and plant material, and training for producers, coordinated with the national sanitary agency (Senasa).
Across Argentina, several legislatures enacted diverse measures: the municipal council of Tres Arroyos approved budget reallocations and local ordinances; the Formosa city council debated flood‑prevention actions ahead of the El Niño phenomenon; Formosa’s provincial delegation defended existing environmental laws at a COFEMA assembly; the Catamarca Senate gave provisional approval to create adolescent support centers; the Río Negro legislature granted permanent status to more than 4,000 public‑sector workers and approved teacher incentive rules; the Corrientes council regularized commercial construction and updated oil‑waste regulations while honoring a local citizen; and the Tierra del Fuego commission announced a “clean‑record” candidate requirement for future elections. These actions reflect a broad wave of provincial policy activity in Argentina.
