Entrepreneurship drives 76% of Venezuela's economic activity
Entrepreneurship accounts for 76% of Venezuela's economic activity, a figure that exceeds the global average of 60%, according to Maryury Bargiela, president of the National Entrepreneurship Fund (Fonaem).
To support economic recovery, the state provides assistance in four key areas: training, formalization, financing, and trade fairs. Formalization efforts include the 'Emprender Juntos' platform, which allows entrepreneurs to register and obtain tax identification (RIF) through Seniat, potentially offering tax advantages during early commercial stages.
In Caracas, local entrepreneurs are signing contracts for the use of productive premises to expand commercial activities and strengthen the communal economy. Mayor Carmen Meléndez reported that these legal agreements provide stability and secure physical spaces in high-traffic areas for various sectors, including textiles, gastronomy, and artisanal manufacturing. These assignments are accompanied by links to public banking to facilitate microcredits and digital payment systems.
