Entrepreneurship rises as a top dream for Brazilians

Entrepreneurship in Brazil is becoming a primary collective aspiration, according to recent data. The GEM 2025 report, conducted by Sebrae, indicates that the percentage of Brazilians who list starting a business as one of their greatest dreams rose from 34% to 40% in one year, making it the second most common dream after home ownership.

Additionally, a September survey by Quaest found that entrepreneurship ranks fourth among the greatest dreams of voters, mentioned by 9%. Despite this growing interest, entrepreneurs face significant structural challenges in Brazil, including heavy bureaucracy, high interest rates, confiscatory taxation, scarce credit, and inconsistent regulations.
