Entroncamento approves 5.87 million euro new basic school project

The municipality of Entroncamento has formalized the contract for the construction of the new Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen Basic School. The project represents an investment of approximately 5.87 million euros, including VAT, with an estimated execution period of 540 days.

Located on Rua dos Ferroviários in the parish of Nossa Senhora de Fátima, the new facility will replace the current building, which municipal president Nelson Cunha noted had structural issues and stability concerns. The new school is designed to provide a safer and more modern environment for the community.

The planned infrastructure includes eight pre-school classrooms and eight primary education classrooms. Additional facilities will feature a library, science room, gymnasium, multipurpose room, cafeteria, kitchen, staff rooms, and technical areas. The project also encompasses the rehabilitation of outdoor spaces and the provision of new children's furniture and equipment.
