Entropy Neurodynamics reports durable results in binge eating disorder trial

Entropy Neurodynamics has reported positive 12-week follow-up results from a Phase 2 clinical trial of TRP-8803, an IV-infused psilocin treatment for treatment-resistant binge eating disorder (BED). Conducted in collaboration with Swinburne University of Technology, the study focused on Cohort 1, where patients had lived with BED for an average of 15 years and had previously failed at least one treatment.

Data indicates a durable clinical response following two doses. Weekly binge eating episodes remained 73% below the pre-treatment baseline at the 12-week mark, consistent with the 74% reduction observed at four weeks. Notably, 50% of patients in the cohort experienced no binge eating episodes throughout the 84-day follow-up period.

Beyond binge eating reduction, the trial reported broader therapeutic benefits, including a 50% reduction in anxiety, a 42% reduction in depression, and a 61% improvement in quality of life. EEG analysis also identified significant changes in brain dynamics, such as increased EEG complexity and reduced alpha activity, following administration.
