Enugu Air launches direct flight route between Nigeria and Cameroon

Enugu Air has launched its first international service, establishing a direct flight route between Enugu, Nigeria, and Douala, Cameroon. The inaugural flight departed from Akanu Ibiam International Airport on September 23, 2026, and arrived at Douala International Airport, marking the state-owned carrier’s expansion beyond the Nigerian domestic market.

The new service is scheduled to operate twice weekly using a 76-seat Embraer E170 aircraft. By providing a direct link between South-East Nigeria and Cameroon’s principal commercial hub, the route aims to facilitate easier travel for business professionals, traders, and tourists, reducing the need for indirect connections through other cities or lengthy road journeys.

Officials noted that the connection is expected to strengthen economic and social ties between the two nations by supporting increased movement of investors and families maintaining links across the border.
