Enugu Air launches international flights to Douala, Cameroon

Enugu Air has launched its first international service, establishing a direct flight route between Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, Nigeria, and Douala International Airport in Cameroon. The twice-weekly service operates on Mondays and Wednesdays, intended to connect southeastern Nigeria with the Central African market.

Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah flagged off the service, stating that the airline is a key component of a masterplan to transform Enugu into a $30 billion economy and a major aviation hub for investment, business, and tourism. The airline's chief operating officer, Ugonna Agubuokwu, noted that the schedule is designed to allow passengers from Lagos and Abuja to connect through Enugu to Douala, positioning the city as a regional transit point.

This expansion follows the airline's domestic launch in July 2025 and the subsequent receipt of its Air Operator Certificate from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority in March 2026.
