Enugu Air to launch international route to Douala

Enugu Air is set to launch its first international service on September 23, 2026, connecting Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, Nigeria, to Douala International Airport in Cameroon. The new route aims to strengthen commercial and social ties between South-Eastern Nigeria and Central Africa by providing a direct alternative to multi-leg flights through Lagos or Abuja, as well as long overland journeys.

Chief Operating Officer Ugonna Agubuokwu stated that the route is designed to make regional travel “more accessible, convenient, and seamless” for passengers. The airline will initially operate two weekly flights on Mondays and Wednesdays using a 76-seat Embraer E170 aircraft.

The service is expected to facilitate trade between Nigerian commercial hubs like Onitsha, Aba, and Nnewi and the port city of Douala, reducing transit times and logistics bottlenecks for regional merchants and corporate travelers.
