Enugu APC chieftain Ikechukwu Oloto murdered in Nsukka

The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the murder of Prince Ikechukwu Oloto, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) politician, in Nsukka. Oloto, 53, was discovered at his Odenigbo residence on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

Police spokesperson SP Daniel Ndukwe stated that responding officers found the victim in a pool of blood with deep suspected machete wounds to his head and stomach. Although he was rushed to a hospital, a doctor confirmed he had passed away. His remains have been moved to a mortuary pending an autopsy.

Authorities have launched a manhunt for the assailant or assailants. The killing has raised heightened security concerns in Enugu State, particularly as it follows recent reports of armed hoodlums disrupting political activities in the region ahead of upcoming council elections.
