Enver Jakirović discusses personal grief amid son's Hull City success

Enver Jakirović, father of Hull City manager Sergej Jakirović, has spoken about the personal challenges affecting his ability to attend his son's matches in person. Following the recent successes of Hull City, including a 2-0 victory over Manchester United and advancing to the third round of the EFL Cup via a penalty shootout against Stoke City, Enver shared that he has been struggling with grief.

After losing his wife of 50 years, Enver expressed that he lacks the desire to travel to stadiums, including Wembley. He noted that he prefers to watch his son's professional career from home on television, stating, ‘Buy me a big television, I will do it slowly from home.’ He emphasized that his decision to stay home is a direct result of his bereavement.
