Environmental activists report vandalism of protest signs in Italy
Activists from the Assemblea permanente per il bosco reported that their protest banners and signs were vandalized along the Via Emilia. The group noted that several signs were torn or cut, including one parodying a commercial slogan. While activists have worked to repair and rehang the materials, they noted that similar incidents have occurred approximately ten times in recent years.
Suspects range from local vandals to residents who support a planned redevelopment project. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the environmentalists' occupation of a Conad area, investigating potential charges of aggravated damage and private violence for allegedly preventing the access of heavy machinery.
