Environmental and heritage restoration projects underway in UK

Various environmental and heritage restoration projects are underway across the United Kingdom. In Watford, the ‘Rediscovering the River Colne’ scheme has commenced a 10-year program to improve habitats, boost biodiversity, and enhance public access. Current works are focused on Oxhey Park, Riverside, and Lairage Land, involving floodplain enhancements, tree planting, and fish passage improvements.

In Pewsham, the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust is working to revive a historic waterway. Following the completion of a dry dock and a new bridge, volunteers are currently clearing the Bottom Lock to connect it to the restored stretch leading toward Lacock. The project involves rebuilding locks and wing walls to allow boats to navigate the canal once again.
