Environmental and safety measures implemented in Mexico and Colombia

In Mexico, the Secretary of Tourism, Yolanda Cepeda Echavarría, has announced the preventive closure of all tourist sites in the Huasteca Potosina due to heavy rainfall. The weather phenomena have caused river levels to rise significantly, creating dangerous currents and the risk of debris such as logs and stones being swept downstream. Local authorities and Civil Protection will maintain strict surveillance, with potential sanctions for those who ignore the closures.

In Colombia, the environmental authority Corponor has ordered the immediate suspension of activities for the company Geoambiental S.A.S. in Los Patios, Norte de Santander. The preventive measure, issued via Resolution 064, aims to protect the Agua Linda stream and prevent the discharge of liquids into the hydraulic system. The suspension covers the reception, management, and treatment of waste and related liquids, and will remain in effect until the company complies with its environmental license obligations.
